Education in reverse presented one week of free educational events set in and around Glasgow. The talks, seminars, site visits and performances were programmed from an open submission of proposals. The starting point for the project was Paulo Freire’s proposition that everyone is entitled to exercise an ability to learn and teach. Events were presented by Elizabeth Price, Nick Norton, Su Grierson, John McDiarmid, John Gooch, Sarah Duncan, Phillipa Gannon, Ross Birrell, Hayley Tompkins and Susan Tompkins at sites including: Shawfield Stadium, The Mitchel Library, Linlithgow Palace, the Parish Hall and Glasgow Cathedral.
The project was launched by the Transmission Gallery and funded by the Scottish Arts Council and Glasgow City Council.
