The Making Film events were dedicated to the exploration of innovative filmmaking practice from a wide range of perspectives. Each event began with the screening of a first feature made in 2008, followed by an extensive discussion between the maker(s) of the films and a creative practitioner from a different discipline. The maker of sleep furiously, Gideon Koppel, entered into a dialogue with the author John Banville. Duane Hopkins, director of Better Things, participated in a discussion with the psychoanalyst and film programmer Andrea Sabbadini Christine Molloy the co-director of Helen spoke with the writer, artist and film programmer Lucy Reynolds.
