Aide-mémoires

The equivalent of snow is blossom. The offense I cause was unforgivable.

The equivalent of snow is blossom was commissioned by the Transmission Gallery (Glasgow) for the launch of their Resource Room which houses the Transmission Galleries archive. This series of 12 aphoristic texts were connected together in thematic pairs or groups, then mounted flush to the exterior wall of the Resource Room.

This illuminated narrative wraps around the outer edge of the Transmission’s archive marking it’s boundary with self-reflective observations. Foil blocked shapes punctuate and bridge the wall mounted texts and are in turn mimicked by silver leaf applied directly onto the floor to conceal the trails of white paint accumulated after seasons of exhibition installations. The materials used include: tissue, paper, card, ink jet printouts, spray mount, florescent ink, silver leaf and metallic foil.
